If I Could Relive One Year, I’d Trade My Tuition Savings for a Working Holiday

If you could relive one year of your life, which one would it be?

If I could relive one year of my life, I would go back to the year I returned to college after my military service.

At the time, my bank account was always empty. I spent every spare hour tutoring just to pay for my tuition and living expenses. I felt proud of being self-sufficient, but looking back, I realize I spent my youth chasing financial security instead of taking bigger risks.

If I could do it over again, I wouldn’t spend that year chaining myself to a desk and a bank account. Instead, I would apply for a working holiday visa, pack a bag, and throw myself into the wider world. I wish I had experienced working abroad, facing language barriers, and stepping out of my comfort zone while I was young.

I can’t change the past, but it reminds me that life is meant for adventure, not just survival.
